Places of Argaia

The world of Ashes is full of locations, from continent to cities and buildings. This list contains informations to help form a sense of grandeur of what Argaia is.

Abylon

• City.
• Last known ruler, at least before the Collection of Ashes, is Jericho Kill.
• The historic battle site of Abylon can be found in the outskirts of the city. This site is a powerful well of dormant magic. Those ruins are home of powerful ancient artifacts but they are not easy to navigate.

Argaia

• World, universe, realm created by Isaac Vega.
• Cities were cut off from each other for such a long period of time that they all developed their own culture, modernizing in their own way, away from the rest of the world.

Ashen Forest

• Region in Argaia.

Birdsnest

• Home of Fiona Mercywind.

Blackcloud

• Home to Brennen Blackcloud.
• Tallest mountain in the world. Also the name of the bleak and venerable city that sits at the top of it.
• Located on Ironside.
• Known to provide and send around the world the best assassins and mercenaries, mostly via House Blackcloud. This was one of the city biggest points of livelihood, most importantly during the Chimera era. And then, all that income and prosperity disappeared with the arrival of the Phoenixborn.
• Got its name from the smog pumped in the sky by the city’s industries.
• Blackcloud society is very stringent to the old ways of magic and the old ways of living.

Bloodwoods

• Woodland region on Eros.
• Last known ruler is Queen Jessa Na Ni.

Bone Sea

• Body of water located on Eros.

Curlston

• Home of Sergeant Crystalmere.

Darmas

• City found deep within the Ashen Forest.
• It is shunned by the outside world, for its people tell tales of dark horrors that roam those haunted trees, and of men and monsters held in slavery by the dark powers of the moons.

Delphi

• Home of the Final Pythia, a mystic.

Eros

• One of the continents that we can find in the northern part of Argaia. Close to Ironside.
• Mostly tundra and ice with a colder climate. With one exception, the Evermist Valley.

Erris Isle

• “Have you ever been to Erris Isle? Its walls are the angry sea that crashes upon sharp rocks hidden just beneath the waves. Its vineyards are grizzled fisherfolk resigned to one day dying on the job. Its culture is a lone brewhouse that’s made the same appalling swill for generations. I suppose if you’re a Phoenixborn looking for isolation, it’s paradise.” - Darius, Terminal Amurai

Evermist Valley

• Small city on Eros. Unnaturally warm for the region, it is full of hot springs, waterfalls and other things like that, giving it a tropical climate, suitable for plant life. This is not common on Eros.
• One of the few cities that actually doesn’t have a walled structure around it. The inhabitants are known for their peacefulness and kindness to strangers, and have a good connection to that valley.
• Home of Aradel Summergaard.

Frostdale

• Region on Eros, surrounded by huge ice walls.
• Mostly farms and villages.
• A titanic Chimera has been seen in the frigid wastelands beyond Frostdale.

Gobi

• (see New Gobi)
• City within the region of Redsand.
• Now in ruins and referred to as the Old Gobi. The Vermillion Council has built a secret citadel nearby.
• Temptingly close from Gorrenrock (per Elga Trilling).

Goldwater

• City.
• Birth place of Elga Trilling.
• Home of the Goldwater Theatrical Endowment.

Gorrenrock

• City within the region of Redsand.
• Has a brothel, according to a story by Rin Northfell.
• Has a hotel named Promenade, according to the last journal entry of Elga Trilling.
• Located in a harsh environment/desert climate.
• Has an establishment called Anfarro’s.

Hemlock

• Home of Echo Greystorm.

Ironside

• One of the continents that we can find in the northern part of Argaia. Close to Eros.
• Rocky environment where a lot of mining is happening.

Ishra

• Home of Astrea.

Lighthouse Bay

• Coastal city, beacon of civility and culture. By Bone Sea.
• Located on Eros.
• Former home of Saria Guideman and the Guideman Manor.
• Destoryed with the advent of the Red Rains summoned forth by Rowan Umberend.

Lordswall

• Home of Odette Diamondcrest.
• A crystal created a horde of Rainwalkers that attacked Lordswall during the second Red Rains, and the city was defended by Odette Diamondcrest, Xander Heartsblood, James Endersight, and Dimona Odinstar.

Marrowden

• Home of James Endersight.

Memoria

• City-sized maze of cathedrals and monasteries dedicated to the Gods of Argaia.
• This mausoleum-city is home to the Gatekeepers.

Mosriel

• Home of Hope Everthorn.

Neverset

• Home of Leo Sunshadow.
• A Chimera born of the lust and restlessness in the soil has emerged here.

New Gobi

• (see Gobi)
• Nomadic settlement in the region of Redsand.
• Protected by Sunshield Sentries stationed on the outskirts of the settlement.

Olympus

• Known for their spices.

Rayward

• City.
• Located on Eros.
• Home of the fabled Library of Mariendretta. Also has a palace.

Redsand

• Region in Argaia.

Rustwatch

• Coastal city, ravaged during the Collection of Ashes. Known for its great metals.
• Located on Ironside.
• Home of Coal Roarkwin.

Shadowreck

• Coastal City.
• Home of Rimea Careworn.

Silverwood

• City. Named for the beautiful, giant silver-trunked trees that grew throughout the city. The city has inner walls and outer walls. Has a port. Mining and metal work are predominant.
• Located on Ironside.
• Last known ruler is Queen Maeoni Viper.
• District(s): Goldleaf

Smogborough

• Home of Victoria Glassfire.

Soaksend

• Home of Namine Hymntide.

Spiral Jungle

• Home of Koji Wolfclub.

Sunhold

• Walled city where we can find Vermillion Council’s university and Godstar, the home of the Vermillion Council.
• Largest city in existence.
• Home of the Forbidden Vault and the Reliquary.

Vallen

• Desert oasis.

Viros

• Was located on Eros. Destroyed by Noah Redmoon.
• Was a large city, a very powerful and influential city in the world. Had one of the largest population in the world at the time.
• Was lucky enough to not only have one Phoenixborn but three.
• Was governed by Lord Mayor.
• Home of the great Clocktower of the Sun before it was burned.
• Rumours have been spreading of a horrific force awakening in the city of Viros following Rowan Umberend using the Red Rains to resurrect the Chimera. Rumours were true. A new Chimera has appeared in the ruins of the city of Viros.
